Healthy Oatmeal Pancakes on a relaxing weekend morning

Hi there. :) We are having a 4 day weekend in Japan. As you know, the Olympic had already started. And wow, it's called Olympic Games Tokyo "2020".  Cool!

It's ideal for times when I can spend time leisurely in the morning to make Oatmeal Pancakes for my breakfast. It might be quicker than so-called pancakes because you don't have to sift the flour. Using not blended oats, but whole oats makes it even quicker. 

It becomes brown like this when I add spelt flour to ingredients. You mix eggs, Greek yogurt (soy milk yogurt, milk, whatever you have!), olive oil if you like, oats, a little flour, a teaspoon of baking powder, a pinch of salt, and sugar like oligosaccharide, maple syrup, honey, or agave syrup in a bowl. Then fly it in a pan!

I just eyeball it😉  Isn't it fun to have different pancakes every time you make it? Or I'm just being lazy?😅  It's also fun to add fruits such as apples, bananas, or blueberries into dough. Oatmeal Pancakes are not fluffy but dense. However, it makes me happy when I taste them with butter. Of course coffee goes well with❤︎

Happy Birthday Rose!!!!!

Collie sent me these pictures on my birthday.

It made me think he was on a short vacation in North Michigan that is his favorite place. "Are you in North Michigan now??" I got happy because he could refresh himself there.  

I took out stones to take a picture and show him. "We collected these stones in Petoskey, right? 😊"

Collie is like, he was driving to the Port Huron area about 2 hours northeast from his place and actually those stones were from Grand Marais, a small beach town a long distance far away in Northern Michigan.

Oh..the name Grand Marais was a bit hard to remember for me..😓  Anyway, I told him that the beach of Port Huron has also colorful stones according to his picture. 

All I did for my birthday was enjoying MOET & CHANDON at my place. My mother gave it to me at my previous apartment and I'd waited for the opportunity to share it with a family or a friend, but ended up drinking it alone😂  Even if I spend time with myself, it is an occasion worth celebrating!

It took me 3 days to drink up a whole bottle of the Moet & Chandon...😅  Yeah well, there are times.

A walking path with lots of greenery alongside Meguro River leading to Nakameguro

I live in a commercial district, but still rich in nature, which makes me feel I live in a cozy neighborhood.

I was dying to walk towards Nakameguro area alongside the Meguro River. I give it a try!

Lush greenery! I am happy to know there is a leafy area like this in my town. Even better, green trees can be a shade when I walk under the sun.

I cross an each bridge and continue walking alongside the river. 

I like this stone paving. 

A couple walking ahead of me is international marriage. Surely it is a great path also for a family to hang out. I wish I could have someone to walk with me...😢

The skyscraper in the middle of the picture is Nakameguro Atlas Tower. My real estate agency is located in the next building to it. 

A little over ten-minute walk brought me to a small restaurant. Mexican? It has a distinct feel. Wow, I see that family at the counter table. It muse be a good restaurant. https://tacofanatico.jp I should try this place next time! I get lonely at times, but I have to find a way to enjoy it alone.

relaxing days with wild roses & a couch with a rose pattern

 I found wild roses from my parents suited rose patterns of my couch very well. I should take a shot.

Actually, the cover I'm using as a sofa cover is a stole Collie sent me in return for a chocolate bar & a handkerchief for Valentine's Day a few years ago. It is a stole made in Poland. It must be a unique way to use a stole, but I hope he is happy about it. You can see a white race I bought at Canterbury Village in Michigan...☆

From time to time, I buy a lunch box near my living place and sit on a couch. It is a rice bowl with ginger pork stir-fly and a great variety of vegetables on top; one of healthy lunches shunpachi.jp（旬八）sells. I'm buying strawberries too, there.

Also, I found a cute sized cookie box at Gotanda Tokyu Store. A small gift is a nice way to express "thank you". :)  It's easy on the wallet (about 2 bucks each!), but looks fancy❤︎

My brother sent me half-a-dozen red wines as a housewarming gift. I'm making open-faced grilled cheese sandwiches for supper, enjoying a glass of wine, already!

There is a day I feel, like, "I'm not going to do anything today and just relax." Or, after a long day at work, I often have a leisurely evening, feeling chilled-out.

It will be 3 months soon since I moved in here. Though I still miss my old apartment, things have finally calmed down recently and I'm getting used to a new dwelling. 

Everyone, I'm really glad I bought my house...

FAR YEAST TOKYO - fresh, 'live' beer inspired in Tokyo with Belgian style

Tokyo had the forth declaration of a state of emergency from July 12th to August 22nd, 2021. Well, I'm fed up with those restrictions...😑  So this weekend is the last one to be able to enjoy alcohol at the restaurant for the time being. I tried out a beer restaurant I'd been always interested in since I moved into this city.

Far Yeast Tokyo Brewery & Grill  1-15-6 Gotanda Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo

It is a brewery restaurant. Isn't it great that a beer restaurant has a brewery in its building? It reminds me of Griffin Claw Brewing Company in Birmingham, Michigan.

I came for my lunch on Saturday. Of course I ordered beer, too! My first beer here was "Tokyo White". The first sip of the beer blew me away. What a rich and sophisticated aroma it gives off...! Tokyo White is fruity and refreshing with its hop flavor. Fine hops must be selected. I liked that beer is served by the glass like a wine glass, which is Belgian Style I believe.

The beer is delivered directly from an adjoining brewery. No wonder it's fresh, and 'live' beer!

FAR YEAST TOKYO inspired in Tokyo, reflecting the vibrant city is improving its beer to be even more impressive. 

Grilled chicken was tasty, too💚  This place got one of my favorite restaurants in my city. Surely I'll come back here after the state of emergency is lifted. To be frank with you, it'd be wonderful if I could be here with Collie like we went to Griffin Claw in Birmingham, Michigan. 

Tokyo Brewery Gotanda is an elegant beer pub serving freshly made beer. It is hard to visit here from your country because of this situation, however, if you ever have a chance to travel to Tokyo, I truly think Far Yeast Tokyo Brewery & Grill is worth your visit to taste this 'live' beer with a gorgeous aroma. I hope you enjoy the original beer from Japan to the world!

Confession night at St.Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion, Michigan

Collie seems to have made a confession at St.Joseph. He is a devout Catholic and often goes to confession. From the date of the picture he sent me, I knew it was taken on the day he said he would go to confession in his e-mail. The time was late at night. 

He has hunger deep in his soul for something. There is nothing I can do about it, but I shouldn't worry. Because - I trust in God. Collie is a strong man. In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity. 

Healthy & delicious❤︎ My usual breakfast is overnight oats with soy yogurt.

When it comes to breakfast, I could say I'm an overnight oats person. I soak oatmeal overnight in a little watered soy milk. Next morning, I take out some from a plastic container in the fridge, and it is naturally yet pleasantly topped with fruits I have at that time.

On overnight oats, I add whey protein powder, fruits, additional soy yogurt, oligosaccharide, cacao nibs, flaxseed oil, and cinnamon powder sometimes. 

I enjoy each day's oatmeal over a cup of coffee, a nice cup of STARBUCKS CAFFE VERONA, which we can get easily at the supermarket nowadays. Making coffee in the morning is my routine.

Healthy and delicious❤︎  It's convenient that I can prepare breakfast in a short time each morning. 

I think I'll do without cacao nibs and protein powder when I use them up because I feel I don't need anything special to be healthy and I can live simply with something I have. 

I had curry and rice for a change☆  Have you ever heard it's good to eat curry in the morning? Surely curry is also good! Well, the rice contains grains like millet, black rice, barley and all that. 

What is your comfy breakfast? I'm wishing you happy moments before the busy day starts.
